Following market feedback, Platts has decided to publish two new freight assessments for 10,000 mt paraxylene spot cargoes from the ports of Mangalore and Sikka on the west coast of India to East China and South China/Taiwan on a weekly basis from April 1, 2016.
The freight assessments will be published every Friday in Asian Petrochemicalscan and on the real-time Petrochemical Alert pages 214, 337 and 644. The weekly freight rates and their monthly averages will be published in dollars a metric ton.
The assessments will reflect 10,000 mt paraxylene cargoes loading 15-30 days forward from the date of publication for the following routes: Route Weekly Code Monthly Average India-East China PXAEC00 XAEC03 India-South China/Taiwan PXASC00 PXASC03.
The freight assessments will reflect loading in western Indian ports of Mangalore and Sikka and delivery in the ports of Ningbo, Shanghai, Zhangjiagang, Jiangyin, Nantong, Nanjing and Zhenjiang in East China; Kaohsiung, Mai Liao, and Taichung in Taiwan; Xiamen and Zhuhai in South China.
