January 2016 – North American Natural Gas Spot Prices (NYMEX)

The ZEMA graph shows the North American natural gas spot prices on NYMEX for Henry Hub, Transco Zone 6, PG&E Citygate, and Chicago Citygates for January 2016. Units are in USD/MMBtu.

All hubs, except for Transco 6, remained at the same low level throughout the month. The spread between Henry Hub and Chicago prices remained negligent leading to the merger of the two lines in the graph. Prices at Transco 6 slid from 6 to 2.5 USD/MMBtu during the month. Overall, high supply sustained low prices throughout the month of January.
