On June 3, 2016, Platts launched a new Panamax dry bulk freight assessment reflecting the trade route of metallurgical coal from West Coast Canada to East Coast India.
The new assessment will reflect spot fixture activity basis loading at West Coast Canada, as Indian steel mills increase their metallurgical coal requirements from the North Pacific region.
The assessment will be based on modern Panamax dry bulk tonnage reflecting the Vancouver, West Coast Canada, to Vizag, East Coast India, route for a Panamax vessel carrying a metallurgical coal cargo of 75,000 mt (plus/minus 10%). The assessment will be published on a dollar per metric ton basis.
This assessment will be published in the Platts Dry Freight Wire.
